Packard Automotive Hopes To Continue Late Owner’s Legacy

Updated: Feb 12

(Official Press Release 2019)

Packard Automotive is planning to do a series of renovations to their building on Packard Ave. Pending approval from the city, they hope to donate a wall to the city for a mural that showcases Cudahy’s multi-generational history. Owner, Edina Rusitovski wants to do this to honor her late husband, Spendi Rusitovski’s legacy, who had a significant philanthropic impact in Cudahy, promoting the need for trades and apprenticeships to young people, among other efforts.

Packard Automotive is hoping its aesthetic improvements will be the beginning of a cultural resurgence in the community which has been lacking for years. After renovations are complete, Packard wants to host a variety of events including charity drives, cookouts, art galas, car shows and much more.

“Look at what’s happening in Walkers Point, Bay View and St. Francis”, said Packard Owner, Edina Rusitovski. “ Art brings value and attracts people to communities, and everywhere around is doing it except Cudahy.”

Rusitovski and other local business leaders including Advance Auto in Cudahy are currently working with Mayor Pavlic to get their plans approved by the city council which will be the deciding factor. Rusitovski will be presenting her plans to City Council at its next monthly meeting, June 4 at City Hall.
